The storm has moved into the north-west of Melbourne, and is expected to be a heavy downpour, and possibly hail and a wind gust of up to 100km/h.
A heavy rain warning has been issued for the eastern suburbs of Wollongong, and the state’s south-west.
In South Melbourne, roads will be closed as heavy rain continues to fall, and residents are urged to stay at home, and to check on their pets.
